Provation MD Introduces Automated Adenoma Detection Rate (ADR) Reporting

August 29, 2018

Minneapolis – August 22, 2018 – Provation, a leading provider of clinical productivity software, announced today a new feature within its Provation® MD procedure documentation and coding solution that automates calculation and reporting of physician Adenoma Detection Rates (ADRs). This advanced feature generates ADR reports in seconds through a pathology integration, streamlining workflows by reducing manual entry of pathology results.

ADRs represent a significant quality indicator for physicians and healthcare organizations within national value-based performance initiatives. Research reveals that, for every 1 percent increase in a physician’s ADR, a person’s risk of developing colon cancer decreases by 3 percent, and the risk of death from colon cancer falls by 5 percent.

In a recent pilot of the new Automated ADR functionality, the Oregon Endoscopy Center LLC was able to transform their tedious and time-consuming manual ADR calculation and reporting process into one that’s automated and streamlined.

“I absolutely love that the pathology results automatically show up in the form, instead of just as a PDF. I no longer need to click back and forth to enter the data from the PDF in order to calculate our physicians’ ADRs,” said Jody Roe, Oregon Endoscopy Center LLC. “Automated ADR does it for me.”

Specifically, ADR helps satisfy gastroenterology reporting criteria for Medicare’s Merit-Based Incentive Payment System and aids in compliance with other certification and accreditation requirements. These include the Quality Indicators for Colonoscopy developed by the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) and the American College of Gastroenterology. It also meets eligibility criteria for participation in ASGE’s Endoscopy Unit Recognition Program.

“Accurate and efficient quality measures reporting is critical to successful positioning in today’s physician practices,” said David A. Del Toro, President and CEO, Provation. “The addition of the ADR reporting feature demonstrates Provation’s ongoing commitment to improving physician workflows and providing the vital technology support needed for optimal care delivery and clinical performance.”

The new ADR reporting feature is offered as an add-on to Provation MD. More information can be found here.
