Houston Heart Institute Deploys Wolters Kluwer's ProVation MD Cardiology to Meet Structured Reporting Requirements for ACE Accreditation
June 15, 2016 - The Health division of Wolters Kluwer, a leading global provider of information and point of care solutions for the healthcare industry, announced today that Houston Heart Institute (HHI) will deploy its ProVation® MD Cardiology documentation and coding solution. In addition to driving cost savings and efficiencies by eliminating dictation, the superior documentation and structured reporting enabled by ProVation MD was an important factor in HHI’s provisional Gold accreditation by Accreditation for Cardiovascular Excellence (ACE).
"ACE accreditation challenges us to maintain peak levels of clinical and operational excellence, which requires timely access to consistent, highly accurate procedural data to continuously monitor the quality and safety of our patient care," said Tim Sisco, Director of Cardiovascular and Imaging Services for Houston Healthcare in Warner Robins, GA. "ProVation MD enables the structured reporting needed for the ongoing quality assessments required by ACE by allowing our cardiologists to quickly and accurately capture critical case details for superior documentation."
Part of Houston Healthcare, HHI is one of just three cardiac catheterization labs in Georgia to earn accreditation from ACE, an independent, physician-led organization sponsored by the Society for Cardiovascular Angiography and Interventions (SCAI) that evaluates and monitors facilities providing cardiovascular care. The facility features four procedural rooms, including two state-of-the-art cardiac cath labs and the only hospital-based echo department in a 50-mile radius to hold Intersocietal Accreditation Commission (IAC) accreditation.
"ACE, SCAI, IAC and other cardiology accrediting bodies recognize the important role structured reporting plays in improving patient care by making procedural and workflow data accessible in a timely and consistent manner," said David A. Del Toro, President & CEO of Clinical Software Solutions at Wolters Kluwer. "By enabling structured reporting, ProVation MD helps Houston Heart Institute and other cardiology service providers meet the highest quality standards and demonstrate the commitment to excellence shared by every member of their clinical and administrative teams."
ProVation MD Cardiology is the only dedicated procedure documentation and coding solution that provides clinically relevant, intuitive software that drives accurate documentation and reimbursement at the highest appropriate level. The award-winning software allows cardiologists to efficiently capture robust detail from even the most complex procedures, then automatically generates clear, complete procedure notes and appropriate reimbursement codes.
