Arvind Subramanian
President & CEO, Wolters Kluwer Health, Clinical Solutions
Mr. Subramanian brings 24 years of general management, process and functional expertise
to Wolters Kluwer Health (WKH). Prior to WKH, he spent over 10 years at General
Electric Company (GE), where he held vice president/general manager positions for
several business lines at GE Information Services, and senior product/service management
positions at GE Medical Systems, including positions in the global nuclear/molecular
medicine modality, service marketing and operations, and strategic planning/market
research. After leaving GE in 1999, Mr. Subramanian served on the executive management
teams of two venture-capital backed technology start-up companies, both of which
completed successful exit strategies, including ProVation Medical, where he served
as Chief Operating Officer prior to the Wolters Kluwer Health acquisition in January,
2006. He received an "Outstanding Entrepreneur" award from NEA (New Enterprise Associates,
a top-tier global venture capital group) post acquisition of ProVation Medical.
Mr. Subramanian has significant expertise in the areas of clinical software/services,
medical content, medical devices, and healthcare supply chain software and services.
He received his BA and MBA degrees from Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland,
Ohio.
John Pins
Vice President, Finance, Clinical Solutions
Since joining Wolters Kluwer Health in 1997, Mr. Pins has served in multiple capacities,
including Director of Accounting for our Professional & Education business unit,
Controller of Wolters Kluwer Health and Accounting Manager for Facts & Comparisons'.
He was named Vice President of Finance in June 2006. During his tenure with our
company, Mr. Pins has worked closely with new system integrations and international
accounting, among other special projects. In his current role, he oversees the finance
divisions of ProVation® Medical, Inc., Drug Information and Decision Support. Prior
to joining Wolters Kluwer, Mr. Pins served in public accounting for more than 7
years. He has a Bachelor's of Science degree in accounting from Iowa State University
and is a certified CPA.
Denise Basow, MD
Vice President, General Manager and Editor-in-Chief, Clinical Decison Support (UpToDate)
Dr. Basow is a primary care physician who has worked at UpToDate since 1996. When
she first joined the company, her responsibilities were primarily on the editorial
side. She has held the positions of Deputy Editor, Executive Editor and finally
Editor-in-Chief, until the acquisition by Wolters Kluwer in 2009, when she became
Vice President/General Manager of UpToDate. Dr. Basow received a BA in Chemistry
from Duke University, went to medical school at Baylor College of Medicine, and
did her internal medicine residency at Johns Hopkins. She practiced primary care
for four years before joining UpToDate.
David A. Del Toro
Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Drug Information (Medi-Span, Facts
& Comparisons, Lexicomp)
Mr. Del Toro joined Wolters Kluwer Health in January of 2006 via the ProVation®
Medical acquisition. At ProVation, Mr. Del Toro was responsible for the software
development team. Post-acquisition he held various positions across the functional
areas of product management, product development, content development and customer
service. In 2010 he became Vice President/General Manager of Clinical Drug Information
for the Clinical Solutions business unit of Wolters Kluwer Health. Before ProVation,
Mr. Del Toro was Vice President of Development & Support and Manager-in-Charge
for the Roseville, Minnesota office of McKesson. Mr. Del Toro started his health
care information systems career 28 years ago with Serving Software, Inc. (now a
part of McKesson) and throughout his career he has managed numerous customer support
and development areas. Mr. Del Toro has a Bachelor's of Arts in Mathematics, Computer
Science, and Statistics from the University of Minnesota and a Master's of Arts
in management from St. Mary's University of Minnesota.
Mike Haldane
Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Documentation (ProVation Medical)
Mr. Haldane has more than 20 years experience in marketing technology solutions
and served as Vice President of Marketing for Wolters Kluwer Health's Clinical Solutions
Division for two years before assuming the role of Vice President and General Manager
of Clinical Documentation. His previous experience includes Director of Business
Development for ProVation Medical, Sr. Commercialization Manager for 3M, Global
Marketing Manager for Imation, Product Marketing Engineer for Intel and General
Manager for PC Solutions.
Early in his career, Mr. Haldane ran an IT services firm delivering solutions to
the legal, educational and health care industries, then spent time at Intel focusing
on new product development. At 3M, he led the commercialization team that built
and launched an RFID-enabled specimen tracking system. Mr. Haldane holds Bachelor's
and Master's degrees in Marketing and Management respectively and is a certified
Six Sigma Black Belt.
Leo Barbaro
Vice President and General Manager, Clinical Informatics & Surveillance (Pharmacy
OneSource & Health Language)
Mr. Barbaro brings 20 years of Healthcare IT and Payer/Managed Care experience in
addition to deep general management, strategic planning and operational process
expertise. He has spent the past two and a half years at Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical
Solutions, initially as a consultant for the Clinical Documentation Operating Unit
(ProVation® Medical) and most recently as a member of the Wolters Kluwer Health
Clinical Solutions strategy and business development team. Prior to his roles at
Wolters Kluwer Health Clinical Solutions, Leo spent eight years at WellPoint/Anthem,
the nation's largest healthcare Payer, in multiple senior leadership positions,
where he led organizations in the medical expense management, analytics and health
benefits products and services areas. Leo began his healthcare career at General
Electric, where he spent 10 years at the GE Corporate Development (Fairfield, CT)
and GE Information Services (Gaithersburg, MD) Divisions. Leo has served on several
healthcare standards development committees and presented on ePrescribing and pay-for-performance
at national healthcare industry conferences. He is also the past co-chair of the
National Committee on Quality Healthcare (NCQHC) Pay-for-Performance task force.
Leo holds an MBA from the University of Connecticut.
Linda R. Peitzman, MD
EVP-Clinical Informatics, Clinical Solutions; Chief Medical Officer (CMO), Wolters
Kluwer Health
Dr. Peitzman directs clinical strategy and oversees the clinical development and
informatics for Clinical Solutions products at Wolters Kluwer. Her experience spans
many facets of healthcare, from direct patient care, to physician management, to
electronic medical record integration, including a wide range of clinical informatics
and content development. Prior to its acquisition by Wolters Kluwer, she served
as chief medical officer for ProVation Medical, where she led a team of clinicians
and coders who defined and developed medical content for the company's documentation
software applications. Earlier in her career, she was a practicing physician and
a medical director with HealthSystem Minnesota/Park Nicollet Clinic, a large, multispecialty
integrated care delivery system with hospital facilities and 31 clinic locations.
Andre L'Heureux
Vice President, Strategy and Business Development, Clinical Solutions
Mr. L'Heureux joined ProVation Medical in July of 1997. Prior to joining ProVation,
Mr. L'Heureux was the practice administrator of Minnesota Gastroenterology, where
he had P/L responsibility for all operations. Mr. L'Heureux's seventeen years in
healthcare include strong administrative experience in large clinics, including
managing multi-site clinics and group practices, engineering sales of facilities
and strategic mergers, and working with different managed care models. He is also
experienced in the implementation of electronic medical record systems, and has
served on several vendor advisory boards and information systems committees. Mr.
L'Heureux currently manages several software products and works in the area of business
development.
Sean Benson
Vice President, Innovation, Clinical Solutions
Mr. Benson co-founded ProVation Medical (formerly cMore Medical Solutions) in 1994.
He has been closely involved in most areas of the company's operations, including
Research & Development, Product Management, Sales, Marketing, Business Development
and Client Services. This broad exposure to the company's activities has allowed
him to serve as a valuable knowledge resource for others as the organization has
grown to 150 employees.
Mr. Benson has a BA in Mathematics and Economics from St. Olaf College (1990), where
he graduated Magna Cum Laude and was a member of Phi Beta Kappa. He worked as a
consultant at Hewitt Associates in Lincolnshire, Illinois immediately after college.
Cheri Palmer
Vice President of Commercial Programs, Clinical Solutions
Cheri has more than 18 years of experience in sales, marketing and sales operations.
She joined Wolters Kluwer Health in 2006 and has progressed through a number of
key roles. Most recently, Cheri served as Senior Director of Sales Operations, managing
the sales and technical support teams and leading the training and certification
program for the ProVation Medical sales team. Her previous roles within Wolters
Kluwer include managing the ProVation Order Sets and Clin-eguide field sales teams.
Prior to joining the company, Cheri spent eight years in senior sales roles with
GE Healthcare and Harris Corporation. At GE, she was responsible for market expansion
of patient monitoring and cardiology products and at Harris Corporation she led
the sales and marketing effort for encrypted wireless devices to military and government
operations. She began her career in clinical support at Homes Regional Medical Center
in Melbourne, FL. Cheri earned a BA from the University of Central Florida and MBA
from the Florida Institute of Technology.
Julie Verry
Director Human Resources, Clinical Solutions
Julie has significant Human Resources experience ranging from entrepreneurial start-ups
to Fortune 100 organizations. Prior to joining Wolters Kluwer Health Julie was Human
Resources Director at Universal Hospital Services, a leading provider of medical
equipment management and service solutions to the US health care industry based
in Edina, MN. Julie has also held HR positions of increasing responsibility at Ingenix,
Inc., a leading global health information, technology, and consulting company based
in Eden Prairie, MN, and Novartis Medical Nutrition (now Nestle Healthcare Nutrition)
a premier producer and distributor of tube and oral medical nutritional products,
supplements and medical devices for healthcare and individual consumer industries
located in St. Louis Park, MN. Her many accomplishments include but are not limited
to: successful acquisition integration, talent development & leadership program
execution, and implementation of effective employee engagement initiatives. Julie
holds a BBA, Industrial Relations & Human Resources from the University of Iowa. |
